Dominique Larrey, invented the first ambulance. It was created in France in 1792. There are several reasons as to why the ambulance was created, but the most important one, was so people fighting in war could be transported to the hospital quickly, while helping their wounds. Dominique stated " To afford the wounded speedy assistance." An airplane was pretty useful to the making of the ambulance. Dominique took an airplane and placed medical supplies in it. This is what you call the first ambulance created.
Ambulance comes from the Latin word ambulare, meaning to walk or move about. The motive was from the want of assistance when he became injured from the military, and almost died. Ambulance are self propelled vehicles specifically designed to transport injured or sick people to a medical facility. The first military ambulance corps in the united states , was organized in 1862 during the civil war as part of the union army. Ambulances were mostly made out of aluminum covered with a thin coating or a laminated plastic. Ambulances are usually manufactured in a modified assembly line process. |
Ambulances were mostly made out of aluminum covered with a thin coating or a laminated plastic. Ambulances are usually manufactured in a modified assembly line process. The following is a typical sequence of operations for the manufacture of a type one ambulance with a modular body. The sub door of the ambulance may be made of plywood or may use open cord plastic honeycomb.
The improvements to an ambulance is that it was made from an airplane to a truck. It was positive because it went faster and you can get to the hospital way faster. The ambulance helps save lives, and Larrey, the inventor, said " These brave Republicans with many others on that day, found their safety in the flying ambulance which was now known throughout the entire army for the immediate help it could bring in all battles." An ambulance was made for people that were seriously injured. An average ambulance costs around $5,715. They can also be bought on many different websites. In 1966, the federal government passed the highway safety act, so ambulances could get to their destination fast and safely. Ambulances can be operated by private companies, hospitals, the local fire or police departments, or a separate city-run organization. |
The Noise Conundrum
Desiree Dumancus NIGERIA-Whenever you are on the road you have to listen for a whistle to let you know that there is an emergency vehicle coming, but it was tiring for those people to blow them. That is until in 1799, John Robinson came up with an idea of the siren. At first the siren was a noise making instrument, then in 1819 a man named Baron Charles Cagniard De La Tour came and fixed the siren to be or some greater use. In 1880 Tour's siren was finally put to use on a ship for a noisy upcoming to shore. This siren is now used for police cars, ambulances, and fire trucks. Fluid Tube
Desiree Dumancus SCOTLAND- There is a huge pandemic around the are with a terrible illness called Mortality, which is a disease that is from fluid depletion. Dr. WB O'Shaughnessy was working on an experiment to help cure the people without hurting them or even worse...Killing them. In 1832 O'Shaughnessy finally finished his experiment and was finally ready to test it out on patients. It was successful! After this there were many patients who got cured using the IV less painfully. Now many people use this when we go to the doctor's office or the hospitals. |
