THE CREATION OF TRANSPORTATION
Kyra Rios
Transportation has been around since the beginning of time, and there has been many changes. The first source of transportation was traveling by foot. People got from place to place by walking or running. Next, citizens thought about an easier way to travel without getting too tired. The solution was to use horses and camels to ride instead of walking and getting exhausted half way through the path. Still, the people of the early times wanted a better source of transportation where they could sit comfortably. With that, the horse-drawn carriage was made. That way they would have an enjoyable ride while having shelter from rain or bad weather. Now there was a problem because there was no source of transportation over water, except swimming, which had similar problems as traveling by foot. The solution for this problem are sailboats, rowboats, and canoes. Then, the steamboat was made. It used fossil fuels, such as coal, to power the vehicle. Now, the only problem was to improve all of these basic sources of transportation. After the idea of using fossil fuels, people started to think of new ideas. After the steamboat, cars, trucks, submarines, and vehicles made for working purposes were made. Then, people made an invention that could sail through the sky. That invention is called the airplane. With all of the pollution in the air, bikes were made to create a source of transportation that is great for the environment. Finally, humans made a source of transportation that amazed the human race, and that source of transportation is called the self-driving cars. With self-driving cars, we don’t need to do anything except give directions!
In order to understand and be able to create a source of transportation, you need to know the laws of motion by Isaac Newton. Two of these laws are that force = mass x acceleration and an object in motion stays in motion and an object at rest stays at rest until acted on by an unbalanced force. After you know these laws, you should get a degree in mechanical engineering. The reason you need to go to college is because they can teach you all you need to know and you can share your ideas with other people in your class. After you know all of this, you should be ready to make your own creations and sources of transportation. Some well known people or companies who created or manufactured cars are Henry Ford, Honda, and Toyota. The two people who created the source of transportation that travels through the air, the airplane, are the Wright Brothers. |
The purpose of transportation is to get from one place to another quicker and easier than by foot. Also, if you are not able to do something at one place you can travel to a different location where you are able to do that specific task. Transportation is also used as a source of recreation, such as go-carts.
Transportation relates to different cultures in a number of ways. The first way transportation relates to culture is through settings. Transportation is used to switch settings for different purposes. Transportation also relates to food because of work cars or trucks that deliver food to houses. Clothing relates to transportation because there are stock trucks that carry goods to stores so they can restock. Next, transportation relates to shelter because moving trucks can help you move your belongings when you move into a different house. Next, transportation relates to technology because there is technology inside of cars and trucks such as the radio or cars with televisions. Transportation also relates to the economic system because sometimes you travel to trade goods. Then, we have recreation. Transportation is related to recreation because vehicles such as rollercoasters and go-karts let you have fun and enjoy yourself on the ride. There is also aesthetic values in transportation because inventors use attractive colors and features to raise their chances of people buying what they are selling. Now, we have religion. Traveling in different places can let people share their thoughts about philosophy. Lastly, transportation relates to communication because while you are on your trip you can meet different people and communicate with them. |
